Undeveloped and wild, the Metolius River is one of the best destinations for an authentic experience fly fishing. Because professional guides are not allowed, the visitors that do frequent the banks of the Metolius are often more experienced fisherman. Anglers are limited to fly fishing only due to regulations, but that may be more of a blessing than a curse as good hatches abound even in wintery weather.
